Content Management Systems for Oracle

by Raj
(India)

Hi,

Any pointers on cost effective content management software, which can be easily integrated with Oracle EBS R12 1.3 and its key features. Client is looking for Document Management software coupled with invoice scanning.

I dont have much knowledge on this CMS. Appreciate your help.

Regards,
Raj

Content management systems are not an area in which we have a great deal of expertise but we may be able to point you in the right direction.

The first content management system that springs to mind is http://www.joomla.org/ a popular open source content management system that apparently powers 2.7% of the web and highly extensible although this requires MySQL.

Oracle themselves offer a content management system as part of Oracle Fusion Middleware. This we believe is using the technology that Oracle acquired from a company called Stellent a few years ago. Stellent were enterprise content management system specialists.

We also found a site comparing content management systems which enables you to compare features of content management systems in various areas such as security and ease of use.

Oracle's solution is likely to be the most expensive but may offer the best integration with Oracle E-Business Suite. We don't have any first hand experience of it so we are unable to help further. It might be worth asking the question in the Oracle E-Business Suite forum on OTN.
